Biography
Tristan is a lawyer within Dirkzwager's Corporate Law section and specialises in the areas of financing, securities and insolvency. Tristan advises entrepreneurs and directors on insolvency and corporate law issues. As a result, he regularly advises and litigates on a variety of issues, including directors' and officers' liability, establishment or enforcement of security rights (such as rights of pledge or mortgage), selective (default) payment, set-off, and fraudulent preference.
In addition, clients engage Tristan, for example, in the event of a (own) bankruptcy petition, debt restructuring and contract disputes. Besides practising law, Tristan also assists Dirkzwager N.V.'s receivers in bankruptcy practice. Tristan takes the knowledge of bankruptcy practice with him when assisting clients. This allows him to advise and litigate on issues in a bankruptcy situation, but also the in sight of bankruptcy - such as a restructuring through WHOA proceedings. Tristan enjoys understanding the legal substance and translating it into sound advice for clients. Where possible, Tristan prefers practical advice in order to provide clients with clear guidance.
