Maartje has been a lawyer in Dirkzwager's corporate law section since 2011, where she has developed into a leading expert in restructuring and insolvency law. The courts regularly appoint her as receiver in bankruptcies.
Maartje has extensive experience with the Homologation Private Agreement Act (WHOA) and has distinguished herself as an expert in this complex legal field. In 2021, she successfully completed the Specialisation Course WHOA - Restructuring Expert at Leiden University. Maartje enjoys sharing her expertise on a regular basis through publications and lectures. Since the introduction of WHOA, Maartje has successfully assisted a large number of clients, including companies as well as shareholders and creditors, in WHOA processes.
In addition, Maartje provides strategic and legal assistance in recovery processes, (bank) financing, guarantees, surety bonds, set-off, recourse and subrogation, (soil) attachment and security rights. Maartje also has extensive experience in litigation concerning tax recovery and disputes with the Tax Authorities, directors' liability and pauliana. In addition, she assists clients in asset and liability transactions, business closures and restarts from bankruptcy.
